Starting July 15, 2025, BC Hydro is introducing a brand-new rebate program to make energy-efficient upgrades more affordable than ever. If you manage a strata, own a condo, or live in a purpose-built rental, this program is something you can’t afford to miss.
Why This Matters
Heating and hot water can account for a huge portion of your energy bill. Traditional electric baseboard heaters and standard water heaters are inefficient and costly to run. Switching to energy-efficient solutions like ductless heat pumps and heat pump hot water heaters can help you save money while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
And now, thanks to BC Hydro’s latest initiative, making the switch just got easier.
What’s Available?
Here are the rebate amounts available under the new BC Hydro Condo and Apartment Rebate Program:
Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump – $1,000 rebate
Ductless Multi-Split Heat Pump – $750 per indoor head (up to 3)
Heat Pump Hot Water Heater – $1,000 rebate
That’s up to $3,250 in savings when you bundle multiple upgrades!
