Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the Dual Fuel Heating System rebate, you must meet the requirements below:
Be a homeowner in British Columbia with an account with FortisBC or BC Hydro.
Live in a year-round primary residence that is at least 12 months old.
Own a home type such as a detached house, townhome, row home, duplex, triplex, or mobile home on a permanent foundation.
Be replacing any gas or propane furnace that is at least 10 years old.
Dual Fuel System Requirements
To qualify for the rebate, the new dual fuel system must meet specific requirements, including but not limited to:
Must be a central ducted air-source heat pump paired with a new high-efficiency gas furnace (≥95% efficiency).
Have an AHRI-certified reference number covering the outdoor unit, indoor unit(s), and furnace.
Be installed by a licensed contractor registered with the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN).
Include a thermostat set to specific switch-over temperatures (≤ 5°C for Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island).
Required Documentation
