Are You Considering Upgrading your Heating and Cooling Systems in the Greater Vancouver Area? Now Is the Time! Under British Columbia’s Dual Fuel Ducted Heat Pump Rebate Program, residents may qualify to receive up to $10k in rebates when installing qualifying high-efficiency systems. This rebate was introduced as an effort to help homeowners lower energy costs, reduce carbon footprints, and enjoy year-round comfort. The program changes are set for May 1, 2025, with the reduction of rebate amounts from $10,000 to $5,000. AireEnergy can assist your upgrade and lock in the full rebate amount before it changes. Let AireEnergy help ensure it gets done before it’s too late and the rebate opportunity is gone.
Eligible installations of dual fuel systems qualify for a $10,000 rebate, with an income-qualified applicant qualifying for a $15,000 rebate. Starting May 1, 2025, the rebate amount will decrease, and the income-qualified rebate will no longer accept applications. To be eligible for full rebates on these installations by April 30, 2025. You need an invoice dated before April 30th. Your contractor must provide the commissioning sheet by this date. Your application is submitted within six months of installation if applicable.
Dual fuel systems combine an electric air-source heat pump and natural gas or propane furnace. The system will automatically switch energy sources depending on outdoor temperature for efficient heating even on the coldest days. Not only does this technology ensure year-round comfort for residents, but it can also lead to long-term energy savings and reduced environmental impact.
Homeowners in Northern BC could receive an extra $3,000 top-up rebate, a $150 rebate for installing a smart thermostat, and an energy efficiency bonus of $300 when bundling their heat pump upgrade with another energy-saving improvement. To qualify, residents of British Columbia who have a FortisBC or BC Hydro account must replace a gas or propane furnace that is at least 10 years old. In addition, you must meet efficiency and installation requirements and live in year-round homes that qualify as your primary residence.
