4. Total Possible Assistance
Combined, the program can cover up to $24,000 of upgrade costs—including heat pump installation and electrical upgrades—for eligible homeowners.
5. Additional Federal Boost
If you’re switching from oil heating, the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability initiative adds a $250 one-time payment on top of provincial rebates.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for these rebates, you must:
- Be a B.C. homeowner or renter (with landlord approval)
- Have a residential utility account with BC Hydro, FortisBC, or a municipal utility
- Meet income eligibility requirements, which vary by household size
- For heat pumps, applies only to homes currently heated with oil, gas, or propane
